The Sentinel Ranges
The south west of Tasmania is one of the last remaining corners of the world left largely untouched. A journey to the heart of this wilderness is truly special. The South West National Park, part of the Tasmania Wilderness World Heritage Area, offers adventurers an authentic and rare experience away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
Much of the park is only accessible by foot. An expedition into the area is not for the faint-hearted, however those who venture are not disappointed. Visitors can still experience the dramatic beauty of the area via car thanks to the winding gravel Gordon River Road. It’s the only road that cuts into the centre of the park, providing unprecedented views of standout landmarks from the comfort of a car. One such stunning sight is the dramatic Sentinel Range (as pictured) that stretches out to the sky from the surrounding untamed landscape.
